NC automatic feeding machine is an advanced automation equipment, but there are certain limitations in adapting to material types and specifications.

1、 Material type restrictions

Metallic materials

For common metal materials such as steel, including carbon steel, alloy steel, etc., NC automatic feeders can usually adapt well. However, when the hardness of metal materials is extremely high, such as some special hard alloys, it may cause significant wear on the feeding rollers and other components of the feeding machine. For example, tungsten steel has a high hardness, and without proper protection and feeding force control during the feeding process, it may damage key components of the feeding machine.

For metal sheets, such as aluminum foil with a thickness of 0.1-0.5mm, the feeding machine needs to have a precise tension control device. Because metal sheets are prone to wrinkling or tearing during the feeding process. If the feeder does not have a high-precision tension adjustment system, it is difficult to ensure stable feeding.

2、 Material specification limitations

In terms of size

In terms of length, generally speaking, NC automatic feeders need to consider the issue of material self weight sagging when feeding longer materials (such as metal pipes with a length exceeding 5 meters). If there is no suitable auxiliary support device, the feeding accuracy will be greatly affected.

When the width and thickness of the material are too large (such as exceeding 1.5 times the width of the feeding port of the feeder), the material cannot enter the feeding channel normally. For materials that are too thin (such as thin films with a thickness less than 0.05mm), the feeding accuracy of the feeding machine is required to be extremely high, otherwise feeding deviation is prone to occur.

In terms of shape

For materials with regular shapes, such as circular bars and square profiles, the feeding machine can adapt relatively stably. However, for irregularly shaped materials such as castings with complex curved surfaces or irregular contours, the clamping device of the feeding machine may not be able to fit the material surface well, thereby affecting the stability and accuracy of the feeding.
